So YouTube is awesome, but iMovie has left me with something to be desired. First, I'll focus on the positives of this experience.
YouTube was easy-peasy to set up. And uploading videos with iMovie was a whiz too-- just click "Share" on the task bar and choose "YouTube." The program preps it for sharing AND uploads the video for you. Setting up the profile was also super easy. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that you can't create hyperlinks in the profile.. but putting full links didn't ruin my world, so considering that was my only complaint about YouTube, we're doing pretty good.
Now onto what wasn't so awesome. iMovie was NOT cooperating. I've tried to record a number of different times and, for whatever reason, I was having some real issues. On a number of different occasions, iMovie would freeze before it even started recording (the screen would be a still shot and the camera appeared to be recording, but the screen shot wouldn't change). Then I got it to start recording one time, but unbeknownst to me, it stopped recording about 6 seconds in for no apparent reason. THEN, iMovie randomly cropped the video on my second recording. See here:
That's why I have no chin. I can't for the life of me figure out why iMovie randomly decided to crop the shot (as it didn't do that on any of my other videos) or how to go back and fix it. When I view the original recording, it is the full screen image I saw when I recorded it. But when I created the "project" (so I could prep it for uploading to YouTube), it was cropped! Grrrr.
Needless to say, this has not been a fun experience. And considering I wasn't crazy about recording myself anyway, it made the experience than much worse :(
BUT, the bright side is I got a super cute video of Ella that I now get to share with family and friends. So all is not lost!
Check it out :
